Voter Deputy Registrar Training

  • Christ Foundry United Methodist Church 9891 Webb Chapel Road Dallas, TX, 75220 United States (map)

Are you tired of sitting at tables for hours, to get just a handful of people to register to vote? Come and learn how to register TWICE as many people to vote.

* How to engage more people to register

* How to collect additional information to follow up with voters

* Technology to help you register voters and make sure they turn out on Election Day!

This training is for people who are already Volunteer Deputy Registrars or who plan to become one soon.

"I've already been trained by the Elections Office. Why go to another training on voter registration?" If you don't follow up with the people you register, most of them will NEVER cast a vote. But Texas law does not permit you to track contact information from the voter registration card. This training will teach you best practices that have been vetted by attorneys at the Texas Civil Rights Project! These best practices will help you register more voters and follow up to make sure that more of them become faithful voters!

This training is for leaders active in the following organizations: Faith in Texas, Workers Defense Project, Texas Organizing Project, Mi Familia Vota, JOLT

Are you registering voters as part of another organization, or on your own? You are very welcome to attend, if you are willing to partner with one of these groups to record your voters voters. When you register, please choose which of these groups you prefer to partner with. You'll be asked to sign a pledge to follow our internal policies and Texas law related to voter registration.

Please bring a laptop computer. If you do not have a laptop computer, please contact jaziz@faithintx.org or your organization for assistance.
